This was a pleasant walk. We did about 4K, then returned. The part we walked was easy to follow starting in Prezeres. Two cute dogs came with us for the first part of the walk. Some great scenery at first, a little neglected agricultural land...More

Signing for Levada's is at best poor but realistically awful.. We got rubbish instructions from the hotel so ended up actually walking from Calheta to Prezares which is about 2 1/2 hours almost all uphill so tough. The levada in Prezares is a little dull...More

Picked up this lovely peaceful walk at Prazeres and a return walk of two plus hours alongside this Levada. We had walked these before in Madeira and found this one pretty easy in the area that we covered it climbed up and down at a...More

It is an easy and accessible levada walk with parking in the village but it is a boring walk as not much to see. Also the levada access terminates due to the path not being tended to. There is a great restaurant in the village...More

Hint: At the turning point (at 50% of the trail's length), use the stairs to get to the other levada for the way back. Don't go all the way to the turning point, it's rocky and one might overlook the right path (like we did)....More

Fanytag was was on a different levada to everyone else. That,, crossing Tabua valley is good too, but vertiginous. Levada Nova means new levada, of which there are several. Kathleen says you have to return to car: actually you can use the bus from Funchal/R....More
