Beautiful colourful market where you can find everything at reasonable prices: excellent food (cheese, meat, fish, fruits, olives, nuts etc..) and beautiful products from Provence (soaps, towels, ceramic plates, clothes, etc...).
Tip: only on Wednesdays and it’s very busy so it’s better to park along the beach before arriving downtown Sanary.

Fun daily market in the beautiful port town of Sanary-sur-Mer in the Var department (Provence). Their big market is Wednesdays from 830is until 1pm. It’s a typical Provencal market with everything from local fruit and vegetables to Rosé wines and nougat. Don’t miss the giant Paellas cooked right before your eyes ... and the fresh fish will blow your mind. There’s gifts to be had too - table clothes, earthenware, lavender, soaps and olive gift sets! It’s truly a feast for your eyes and a sensory delight!

During our trips to France we enjoy going to the street markets from each area. The Sanary sur Mer market was fantastic. From all the different types of food (fresh fish, meats, vegetables, cheeses, spices, etc.), to clothing (shoes to hats and everything in between), to misc items of many kinds. There was a vast selection of many beautiful things. The market was also recognized as Marche Beau Plus” - the best market in France

To popular and therefore very heave trafic and to crowded. It would pay to go early before 9:30 am. and enjoy the port and sera front by the car park. Parking is free for the first hour.

Great market. Get there early to avoid the crowds and easier parking. Good selection of goods: fish, meats, cheeses and clothing.

Voted a world recognised market. Lots of stalls with food, bits and pieces and local products. Happens on a Wednesday morning and was very full in July when we were there. Parking is at a premium especially in the closest paid car park. You literally have to drive around waiting for someone to leave. You need a bit of patience but worth the wait.

If you are visiting there make sure to go to Wednesday market that is happening on the Main Street.
The stalls are full with clothes, local produce, lavender from Provance, fresh fish from the sea, olives, cured meats and cheese. I absolutely loved this place! Paradise for foodie.
I had the best duck liver pate from there. Got full bag of sausages for 10€.

My title is not very positive but its my opiniion - other people love the crowds because it certainly attracts a lot of people !! I rarely find things I want to buy. I prefer all the other days of the week at the little local market - fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, Italian products etc
Note the free parking is for one hour - and after that its expensive - one pays by the quarter hour after the first hour & the first hour & 15 mins is over 2 euros.
The market has people with strollers, wheel chairs, walkers, caddies - not so easy in a packed market !!!

Third visit to Sanary-sur-Mer, we love it here, something for everyone. The night market is one of the largest in France with mainly artisanal products and gifts rather than tat. It's on every night from June to September I believe. The weekly general market in a Wednesday morning is good and has a range of things, everything you've come to expect from a French market really! I particularly like the baskets and usually manage to add to my collection
