The gardens are well established and link to the Abbey de Valloires. The restaurant serves local fare and decorates orcadds edible plants and flowers to its dishes. Great gift shop too.

Allow two hours to walk around preferably following the recommended path on the brochure which covers the whole area well. Like any garden it will vary with the weather and the season but the diversity means you can enjoy this at any time. Possible to...More

We spent a lovely hour or so at the gardens. There is a lot to see without having to walk too far - the space is used really well and there are so many different points of interest that even our over-tired over-hot children had...More

We struck lucky with the weather and the seasons this year. The Cherry tree alley was in full bloom, heady with scent and wonderful. Along with many Magnolias, flowering shrubs and bulbs this was a calming retreat from the manic day of travelling from home....More

Shame that we were probably 2~4 weeks too late as the majority of the blooms had gone over. The potential is obviously there but I guess you need to get your timing right.More

It's just under 60 miles from Calais down to Argoules, and given that most of it can be done on the A16 (Toll), it is only just over an hour's run. (other routes are available!)
