the ponte d'augusto is the largest standing Roman Arch, painted by grand tour visitor such as Corot (painting is today in the Louvre). Amazing piece of engineering and wonderful location with possibility to ride and walk along the river and to visit an old mill

It wasn't easy to find, but once there I was very impressed with this old bridge built by the Romans back in the first century BC. What a engineering feat. I even walk to the other side of the water to see the other half...More

Constructed in 27 BC, the 160 metre Ponte d'Augusto, Narni remains an icon of Augustan reform. The bridge spanned the Nera, and partly restored and original remains show the magnificence of this once well travelled route. The bridge can be viewed from car or train...More
