Visited the National Archeological Museum in Viterbo-extremely interesting with artifacts and information dating from approximately 1200 BC to 800 AD. A number of sites that have been excavated revealing archeological treasures! Must displays had English as well as Italian explanations.

it is the probably the best attraction in Narni BUT unfortunately it is still closed and NO ONE really knows when it will open. It would not be that bad if getting there was not so hard unless you have ..... a micro car lol.

We arrived to see that the castle is closed, and there was some number on the wall with some Italian writing. We called to find out the castle is closed until July. On the bright side, the walk to the castle was very scenic, and...More

This well restored hilltop castle is worth the effort to climb up to. Though the museum is sparse in things to see the scriptorium was memorable

Worth climbing the for the views alone. The museum is quite a random collection, mostly of immitation articles intended to convey an image of past life in the caste. Not very convincing, but kids may like it.

This was well worth the energetic climb up to the Rocca above medieval Narni. The 14c fortress is incredibly well preserved and the rooms are enliven by displays of medieval weaponry, armour and clothes. There is also a grisly torture chamber and a feature of...More

We enjoyed the way to the castle, more than the place itself. We stopped to take pictures and to admire the fantastic view of the Nara Valley and the Black River. The Castle was built in order to protect the city as you can see...More

Great half day spent here, the route through the fortress was well laid out and very interesting. The day we went they also had some people in costume teaching medieval games, great for kids and adults. Excellent views over the surrounding countryside. Well worth a...More

A very well restored fortress with a nice museum inside. Well worth the visit also with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Ask for the ghost stories, you won't be disappointed.
