If you are visiting Cortona, Arezzo or Siena it's really worth to stop here and visiting this church. Such a nice place and well maintained, it brings you back to the medieval time. Inside it's typical romanic style: if you are lucky you can get a guided visit. We found one and were very lucky to join them, but better to book in advance!

We were happy to be guided by a very well informed lady who also spoke English. She showed us the whole complex which comprised a Church and an abbey with wealthy farmlands around. The mighty history of the abbey belonging to the bishop of Montepulciano was explained to us and some important works of art (especially the Central altarpiece) were shown. Nowadays this place is the venue for a group of 27 European villages that exchange visits amoug each other. Visit is recommended, try to find the guide.
