Spent about 2,5 hours wandering around the "Italissima" exhibition (with audioguide) and the permanent collection of the museum. We were impressed by the huge medieval choir books. Worth visiting!

We went mostly to see the current exhibition (which was fantastic) - but there is so much else to see that you could easily spend a whole day there.

A very good museum with many different sets: modern art, history, war history, violin making, seismology... Worth visiting! Very good and friendly service!

A very well managed and presented museum which opened my eyes to the civil war during WWII for one thing. Excellent audio guide included in the €14 entry.

Not the lightest of subjects, but very well presented and interesting. Worth a visit if you have some time, but this is not a lighthearted exhibition

We paid €16 each to visit the Madness exhibition and the museum. That seems awfully steep. The Madness exhibition is a series of artworks by artists who have experienced mental illness or personality disorders. This includes Hitler. The photographs of asylum inmates were disturbing as...More

Salo was once a very important centre for revolutionary and other activities. It has a fascinating and turbulent history, and there is much in this Museum to inform the visitor about this. We were drawn to Salo and the museum by finding a flyer promoting...More

On a wet day on Lake Garda, this museum and its current exhibition entitled Museum of Madness seemed like an exciting place to pass the morning. As the strap line Goya and Bacon tempted me in I was disappointed that only 1Goya and I think...More

Excellent and comprehensive exhibits on the italian civil war, the museum of madness and centuries of local and regional history. Spent an entire day there and did not have enough time to see everything!
