My husband and I visited this attraction today in our 6 metre motorhome. There was parking at the top of hill which said no motorhomes so we drove down a narrow tarmac road with traffic signs and parked on a patch of ground outside entrance....More

We only stayed for one night but the facilities were clean and tidy, possibly requiring some modernisation but it all adds to the charm. Fresh bread/croissant available in the morning. Without the location this would be an average campsite, but the views make it special.

This is one of the more interesting castles we have visited in Germany. There isn't much information available about tour times. We basically showed up and were lucky to get a spot--cannot reserve in advance. Our tour guide graciously let us bring our dog in...More

Our 10th visit over last 11 years, this is a well kept tidy site compared to most we have seen. The owner can be straight to the point, but is ver friendly. Pitches of good size, shaded or unshaded, we have unshaded overlooking the river...More

We enjoyed the best campsite in terms of location - on top of the hill with views of the river and pink lit castle at night. Amenities very clean and the gentlemen running the camp very helpful (though particular about their instructions). We ate at...More

Unfortunately when we walked up to the castle, we found it was only open to groups. It looked amazing. So we went to the restaurant right by the castle and had a lovely meal, a friendly waitress who spoke good English. It was reasonably priced...More

We decided to walk the track from the Wydham Garden Hotel to Burg Lahneck. Hardly spotting any other hikers, we walked the trail to this schloss. Too bad the castle was not yet open for public again, we went a bit too soon. Though the...More

We took a day excursion from the Upper Rhine around Remagen to visit Marksburg Castle. Right after we left Koblenz and before we got to Marksburg we saw a ruined, Gothic castle up on the hill. We learned that it was Lahneck Castle. I could...More
