Regular steam train service with variety of carriages, bistro, open carriage etc. Took two trains and boat trip starting and ending in Binz fo €17 pp. Tip - if taking the boat trip sit on lower deck not open deck otherwise you risk getting soaked....More

A rather pleasing preserved railway which runs most days of the year for tourists visiting the island of Ruegen off Germany's north-east coast. Rolling stock is surprisingly spacious and you are free to stand or take photos from the open coach ends as you please....More

I'm sorry. I am a crazed steam buff. I heard poop poop and had to track it down. It smells of sulphur. But its only a 2' 6" gauge. Absolutely marvellous. Do it again? If say so.

"Racing Roland" as this track / engines are known offer the tourist a helpful & pleasant trip as well as the practical local service that it provides. For us it was both punctual & comfortable
