Have never witnessed such a rathaus! Especially during the late evening, when the sunlight falls over the building, you can enjoy the glittering view of this beauty!

We attended the Christmas markets in Esslingen this year, and were impressed by the charm of the old town. The Rathaus is the highlight of the area, and the Middle Ages Christmas market branches out from the main square.

Such a gorgeous building, steeped in history. So pretty it was even featured on the cover illustration of Madonna's book "Yakov and the Seven Thieves".

A nice discovery. Did not know that there is such beautiful place so close to Switzerland. The old town was nicely restored. Peaceful and nice ride on a rowing boat on the river which runs across the town.

We arrived late afternoon, so only viewed the town hall from the exterior, but it was lovely to watch the figures move when the clock struck the hour.

Walking around the town square was great. The town just feels German. There;s no need to rush or hurry. You are here to take in the atmosphere and relax. The entire area is pleasant to experience.
