The ruins themselves are not easy to access, and look to be not terribly safe either. However, they were lovely to look at, and the views over the nearby loch were just lovely. There is little to no parking nearby, so we just stopped on...More

No facilities, no information that I could find, but a nice spot for a photo. We also had a laugh with a local dog with his tennis ball. He seemed to know exactly where visitors went and followed or ran ahead and waited along the...More

This little spot didn't take long to see as there isn't a lot of the castle left. The area is a bit precarious with no rails some stone steps. The parking can be a bit tough as we didn't want to block the residential street...More

The ruins of Strome Castle sit on the shores of Loch Carron directly opposite Stromeferry, and the views are fabulous in all directions. We were fortunate to visit on a quiet Sunday morning when the sun was shining and the sea was a brilliant blue....More

Whilst on the North Coast 500 we decided to stop off at this tranquil spot just off the beaten track and it was well worth the journey. Alongside the castle ruins there is crystal clear water and a small pebble beach where we were greeted...More

Took a detour to Strome Castle while on a drive around the lochs. In reality just some outer walls remain of the small castle, it has great views and is a good spot to take a photo. If you drove a long way, you'd likely...More

A slow amble out to Ardaneasken and stopped off here to take in the views. Clambered around the ruins taking in the history and took plenty of photos of the area. Ideal interesting fresh air break prior to continuing our itinerary.

No. And quite a scramble to visit. Lochcarron is quite close by though.
