We stopped here after a day of walking around the area and the staff were really friendly and were prompt to come over and ask us for our drinks order. As we wanted cider the lady was quick to grab us the special cider menus. After a couple more minutes of my partner and I being undecided she popped back and asked if we were ready, after saying we weren't sure she suggested the trio of tasters (equating to a pint) which would give us variety so we ordered two of those and a small chips. Not long later our drinks and then chips arrived and we throughly enjoyed both! Would recommend to visit

Out in the beautiful hilly countryside near Holmfirth this was such a lovely cafe to have a birthday lunch at . Fabulous menu, really tasty food - I had the sausage sarnie, my partner the halloumi and mushroom burger. Both delicious! Fab local coffee and local beer too. All served and prepped by friendly folk who were lovely to our dog.

I’ve been here a handful of times, each time I’ve eaten the food has been seriously tasty and a great menu, sometimes I’ve been told they’re ran out of items but not much of an issue as it’s clearly fresh produce. I will say I’m quite surprised by the comments of great customer service and little complaining regarding timing of food leaving the kitchen, as each time this has been a noticeable issue. I decided to review to today mostly as I received a below par experience this morning, I placed an order and realised other customers who placed theirs afterwards were being served their food when we hadn’t, I decided to ask where it was roughly 45 minutes after ordering to be told the ‘cheque hasn’t gone through to the kitchen’ and the food wasn’t even being made as we speak, it was a pretty direct/blunt statement unfortunately which did add to the sting! They did give us our drinks for free which felt only fair but clearly we were left feeling hungry and frustrated, without much apology either. The place wasn’t overly busy too as these mistakes can happen, so there wasn’t much reasoning for it. As mentioned previously I wasn’t really shocked as the staff or possibly kitchen really do take a while to get the food out usually, but thought it was worth noting for those who may want to visit here whilst on a schedule. Overall lovely tasting food, coffee’s were great but you’re lucky to get it in good timing or at all on this occasion.

Hi Ella, we're sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at the Cider Press recently. As you are clearly aware as a frequent customer, we don't serve fast food as we only have one chef and a very small kitchen, but we do strive to produce the best quality food we can as quickly as possible. Obviously a mistake was made on this occasion and your order was not passed on to the chef and subsequently missed. The response you received when you chased it up was also not acceptable and not how we would like customer complaints to be handled. The staff have been reminded of procedures regarding orders and also their attitude when responding to complaints. If you would like to email your details to us we would happy to post out a £5 voucher to make up for your disappointment. We hope to see you again.

Vegan January Evening. Wonderful, home cooked vegan meal. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. A fantastic cafe and shop. Definitely worth a visit at any time.

New Year's Eve 2022,just to say what a great evening we had at the Cider Press Netherthong(nr Holmfirth).The food was really nice,an innovative menu,extremely well cooked,a credit to chef Neil,he was abley assisted by his small team of staff who made sure we were well looked after.I would heartily recommend visiting the Cider Press you won't be disappointed.

Very nice food. Grandson loved his kids platter (cheese ham salad n marshmallows) very nice rustic garden amongst apple trees. Bit hard to find tho

I'm not a cider fan usually, but I keep coming back here! The food is lovely, the drinks are great, and the staff are wonderful.

I visited this cafe with a group of walkers who were looking forward to the excellent tea and wonderful cakes and scones we had promised ourselves at the end of a long very cold wet walk. On Arrival 20 minutes before the advertised closing time of 4.00 pm our entry to the cafe was forestalled by a member of staff telling us we could only have cold drinks as they did not serve hot drinks after 3.30. I had visited the cafe a few days before and specifically enquired about their closing time on the day we were to visit and at no point was I advised that there was no service of hot drinks after 3.30. Neither does this seem to be evident in their on site notices or online. The member off staff made no attempt to be helpful or apologetic but I suspect just wanted to go home. This is an out of town cafe to which most people will a specific visit so accurate information about opening is important.

We are sorry you were disappointed by not being served hot drinks after 3.30. It has been a standing practice at the café to stop serving food or hot drinks 30 minutes prior to closing time, since it opened a number of years ago;this is to allow time to clean the coffee machine prior to the staff finishing work at 4pm (summer weekends 5pm).
We are quite happy to provide cold drinks up to 4/5pm (and sometimes afterwards to which a number of customers will testify).
Unfortunately we are unable to specify this on our Facebook/Instagram opening hours (the Pure North Cider website is not affiliated to the café and is not updated or controlled by the Cider Press Café).

A little hidden gem. Visited for food and drinks and had a lovely afternoon.
Ploughman's lunch and a ceasar salad - simple food but the best we have had! So fresh and tasty.
Lovely outdoor seating area and the staff are just wonderful.
Looking forward to returning.

We are open Wednesday to Sunday. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am to 4pm. Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm in the Winter and Spring Summer and Autumn 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
