Sozopol is one of my best childhood memories-spending my vacation there with my parents and and their friends. Nowadays however, the old town of Sozopol is much busier than it used to be, a bit dirtier but ever so romantic and nice place. I especially...More

Thats how I would describe the atmosphere of this town. Weather was smooth, people seemed unhurried and unbothered... felt very relaxed walking around here. You can see some nice old architecture and beautiful sunsets in the harbor. Nearby beaches were cool, water had a nice...More

When we visited it was raining and the off-season, but it was still a beautiful place for a stroll, and great to see without all the summer crowds. Would love to return during the summer.

A pleasure to visit the old town at any time of year, but a real joy to be there without the Summer crowds!

We hired a villa about 2km outside Sozopol for 2 weeks. We had excellent weather and spent most evenings in Sozopol. Lovely place for a stroll. Lots of nice bars and restaurants as well as a market for souvenirs

Sozopol represents a very nice and local city at the Black Sea. The principal attraction during summer is the beach, nevertheless, the social environment around remains the old culture and traditions of the country. With excellent food, accommodation and good services (banking, taxi etc), this...More

From Burgas bus station- get the end bus that says SOZOPOL behind the tourist office and next to the sailing boat that says BURGAS. This takes you into Sozopol about 35mins. Walk down to the marina and then back up to the old town. If...More

Large old town quite separate from the new one with cobbled tree line streets and winding tiny alleys connecting many little roads and churches. Unusual architecture with rough been stone bases and wooden Matchboard upper floors which step out further each level. The place feels...More

Sorry, can't help on this one. When I was there, I haven't seen any buses getting close to the Old Town nor trains. Went by car rental; you can easily park by the docks. It's free and secure.

Most people know restaurants. So find a restaurant in old town and ask the locals to point you in the right direction.
