We booked a day trip with Lemon Holiday for island hopping at Tun Sakaran Marine Park in June 2022. As our Air Asia flight had rescheduled, we only managed to visit 2 island : Bohey Dulang and Sipuan islands.

Bohey Dulang is also known as "Pearl Island" as it was a pearl cultivation centre previously. Hiking at Bohey Dulang was exhausting but not very difficult. There were 2 separate trekking paths -- 700m heading up to the viewpoint with 265m height and 600m heading down to the jetty. The tallest peak at the other side of the hill is 353m height but it's not open for hiking. It took about 40 minutes for us to reach the view point with stunning view of the lagoon and nearby islands. It's a "must visit" place in Semporna as you will be mesmerize by the amazing view upon reaching the peak.

Remember to wear proper hiking shoes as some places are quite slippery. Also need to bring water for the hike as there is no canteen/stall selling water at Bohey Dulang.

Recommended to book day trip or tour packages with Lemon Holiday as the boss/staff are very helpful and good in taking beautiful photographs.

It is a beautiful place but depressing to see the damaging effect humans have had on nature. Plastic bags and bottles float about in the sea, and saw many people chuck cigarette butts into the water. The coral is damaged beyond belief and boat anchors were thrown into the water above coral reefs with no regard for the marine life below. For a marine park there seems to be shockingly little efforts made by the government to conserve its beauty.

The park is overcrowded with boats, with at least 10 boats stopped at each tiny island at the same time (don't understand why they all have to take the same route?), which completely ruins the experience.

At the end of the day we felt embarrassed to have contributed to the harmful impact and wished we had researched a bit more. Please avoid until efforts are made to conserve this precious area.

We stopped at this island for a hike to the top of the mountain for the view of bay. Unfortunately, I was watching my youngest so we didn't make it to the top, but the my boys and wife made it to the top. The view from top is gorgeous. Just be aware that the hike up is kind of challenging for those who don't regularly exercise. Plus, there are a lot of tourists who don't climb regularly, so making it up requires both physical abilities and the ability to dodge other hikers.

Beautiful place being spoiled by all the rubbish. Swim with the turtles and placyic waste from the tourist boats.

Was privileged to spend a few days at anchor in the lagoon. Sadly though the place is a floating plastic tip. Even travelling by dinghy the outboard would frequently get caught up in the stuff. Each morning we’d wake up surrounded by floating plastic bottles. This could be such a beautiful spot but sadly I can’t recommend it. It needs the National Park staff to clean up the water, ban single use water bottles and force the day trip boats to take all their clients rubbish home.

the islands off semporna, sabah are beautiful in its own way. more effort need to be done to protect and maintain the floating debris along this coastal area. all the boats need to stop halfway to check their outboards each time

Went snorkeling to 2 islands and they are doing a lot to bring back the corals. A few fish to watch but not a full reef experience. Diving should be a lot better. Fishermen are still using bombs to "fish" with. Really bad for the reef.

The place itself is picturesque but upon arrival is extremely crouded and unbelievable noisy. Definitely it is not what one can expect visiting nature protection area.

There are 7 islands around this marine park, take your time enjoy every (instaworthy) spot as long as you want. Everyone should be responsible for preserving these beautiful islands from rubbish. The local kids will approach you, but fret not, they are not threatening or persistent if you say no.
