This is a wonderful monument honoring the men and woman who sacrificed their lives during the 1939-1945 War. Beautiful setting and worth the stop to show respect and honor.

I stopped here with the family while driving back from Fort William to Kyle of Lochalsh. It's situated just a short drive north of Spean Bridge and overlooks the loch below with Ben Nevis sitting in the background. At the side of the memorial is...More

This is a magnificent monument in a spectacular setting. Signage is good and the parking is ample and well-surfaced, however the location desperately requires the installation of Public Toilets! These days discrete architecturally stylish loos are commonplace at public monuments and can be controlled/part-funded by...More

This memorial is worth visiting for the views alone but more important is the sacrifice made by others and us acknowledging that. As well as the famous statues there is a memorial circle which is very poignant and moving. Do not pass it by if...More

When I last visited about 17 years ago the Commando Monument was impressive but the site is so much improved now for having the Memorial Garden, also a proper marked out car park ( free).. The scenery is wonderful also. Just off the main A82...More

It's a statue. Of Commandos. I am not sure how something like this could be either excellent or terrible. I mean, it is just a statue, of commandos, in the middle of Scotland. Bonus mark for location.

The monument is beside the A 82 just a few miles from Spean Bridge. It was placed here as the soldiers trained in this area during the Second World War and the monument overlooks Ben Nevis and part of their training area. Since my last...More

It' slightly uphill from the car park, but if she takes it slowly and has help she should be ok. Failing that, the monument is fully visible from the car park.
