The Abbey of Cadouin is not exactly stand-out, but is recognized on UNESCO WH site as one of the point of the Compostela Route in France. The cloisters are really nice and pretty (requiring a separate entry fee of €8).

Surrounding a pleasant grassy cloister garth the compact cloister takes time to explore to detect all of the mason’s jokes and the varying styles of the additions over time. Beautifully preserved.

Although this is just a cloister and therefore quite small, it has a lot to see. The walls and roof are decorated with elaborate carvings of biblical and other scenes which are well explained in the leaflet you are given. So go slow and look...More

Very attractive and well kept cloister. The stone work is beautiful. The headsets are well worth the price to help you understand the history and architecture.

A pretty, small town with this amazing church and abbey. The cloisters are worth a look because of the variety of the stonework, reflecting its construction over a long period of time. This was quite peaceful and quiet, especially after a day with the crowds...More

A very peaceful place and the stonework of the old building is magnificent. Plenty of information on each area ( too much at times). The central garden area of the cloisters is lovely. A peaceful and picturesque place. Will visit again.

The cloisters are small and peaceful and are blessed with some wonderful stone carving and statuary. But Cadouin is quite out of the way. The adjoining church is very plain and uninteresting and, although a pleasant village, there is nothing apart from the cloitre which...More

The Cloister is very pretty but it won't take long so don't plan a day trip to this place! There are a few cafes and a small market on Thursdays.

Awesome church with a Abbey attached, great to just have a look around, and don't forget to take the panorama trek, up the hill, to look down on the Abbey and Church from above.
