What a windy road to get there, a few road works here and there, quite narrow, blind corners and on the weekends limited car parking as it is a time spender whilst waiting for the afternoon cave tours however once you get there the walk...More

This was a perfect stop on our way to the Glowworm caves and Rapid Jet. It's a bit of a hike back up but it's worth the effort.

Went to this falls with a friend who came for a visit, it is close to home, but I haven't been before.. shame! Loved it, it is beautiful! Can be a bit crowded and use trail shoes if you can to come closer to the...More

It was a long, windy ride to get there but the waterfall was beautiful! We had some time to kill so it was a nice way to see some more New Zealand scenery. The walk is short, pleasant, and easy to follow. Worth doing if...More

Just an easy 10 minuets walking from the side of the road, and could hear the running thunder halfway to the platform. Spectacular fall with water flying in the air and shining in the sun. One of the best falls in the country.

There is a short 5 minute walk to these falls, and it is so worth it! The walk itself is beautiful but the falls are even better. We saw it in winter after rain so the water was thundering down the 35m drop. Not sure...More

We stopped to stretch our legs and were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful these falls were in real life...photos actually do them justice. Well worth the stop.

The Falls are absolutely beautiful. But personally for my own preference I felt the walk down to the falls was alot better the little bush walk down to the falls is all native bushland and is incredible

You won't regret visiting these falls. They are absolutely gorgeous. Our B&B host recommended we visit Marakopa Falls and we are so glad we did. The walk from the car park is quite short (about 5 minutes). The falls are magnificent. You can even feel...More

The falls are 20-30 minutes outside of waitomo and the drive is horrible. Some curves that will make anyone car sick! Some other cool sites along the way to make it worth the drive. Quick hike to the falls.

The sign says it will take 10 minutes to get to the viewing platform and there are not a lot of steps - more of a sloping path. I don't think pushing a wheelchair would be that easy, but taking it slowly was quite manageable... More
