- Julene MSydney, Australia475 contributionsTerrific Tamarins.I thoroughly enjoyed my day here. I paid to feed the Tamarins which were so cute. As I was the only person, I was given a long session and Taryn was wonderful. Well worth the money. I also fed the giraffes. The park is larger than I thought and slopes downhill so walking back up to the entrance was a bit of a hike for me. Luckily there were seats to rest on the way. One thing to be careful of are the uneven pavers, tread carefully on those! Apparently other people have fallen over.Hi Julene, We are thrilled that you enjoyed your tamarin experience and feeding our giraffes. Aren't the tamarins just the most adorable little guys? And those majestic giraffes!!! Thank you so much for your kind words and your excellent 5-star review. Animals seemed happy and able to be separated from public but still viewable. Almost every animal viewed none hiding. Easy to get around park. Friendly keepers.Cheers, Travel00963299994, for an excellent score and review. - allanNelson Bay, Australia7 contributionsStill worthwhileVisit to the park was just as i remembered it from 15 years prior. Smallish zoo with unique animals i hadn't seen at other zoos. Unfortunately, the park is in need of some TLC. The animals are still great but the park is failing in upkeep. Hopefully there will be an influx of patrons to ensure its still here in another 15 to 50 years. Still worth the visit and the price is affordable for multiple visitsThank you, Allanhowieson, for your excellent review and recommendation. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your repeat visit Mogo Wildlife Park especially enjoying getting up-close to our diverse collection of exotic species. We appreciate your feedback and this will be passed along to our teams. Spent most of the day and wasn't bored with attending the different Keeper talks which all of them were highly informative. We also paid extra to hand feed the Giraffes, plus attended a private visit and Keeper talk with a White Rhino which is an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.Thank you for your fantastic review! we are so glad to hear you enjoyed your day and have made memories to last a lifetime. - Granny Takes a TripSydney, Australia362 contributionsA memorable encounterWe decided to try two of the animal encounters here, which are accompanied by zoo staff . If you arrive without prior booking you might get a discount, or if you take out zoo membership it could be well worthwhile , for admission to two other zoos . We encountered the spotted hyena, Cheka, and the bintarong, Baru, on different days . These experiences were the highlight of our holiday . Well worth a visit . Very enjoyable, staff are very knowledgeable and friendly .Thank you for your fantastic review! We are so glad to hear you had an incredible time interacting with all of our beautiful animals. Lots of big cats, monkeys, gorillas and others. Staff and keepers were friendly and very informative. Well worth the visit. - JC7322 contributionsReally good day outA good Zoo the Silvery Gibbons the favourite by far. Really good food for a Zoo. Friendly keepers. The reason for not giving excellent is that it was full of muddy path ways that made it harder to get around. Lay some gravel!Hi Bulldogsarebest, Thank you for your 4-star rating and your kind words. We agree that the Silvery Gibbons are fabulously entertaining to watch. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to our park, and we appreciate your pointing out that some of the pathways are muddy. Unfortunately, this is indicative of an ongoing battle with the weather as the heavy rain that we have experienced lately, washes the gravel away. It is a work in progress and we thank you for your understanding.Written July 13, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 9, 2024
- Tania B2 contributionsFastastic zooOne of the best zoo's in the country. As an experience for visitors it's wonderful, you can easily see the animals, the enclosures are well set up and the animals are active. The giraffe/zebra paddocks needs to be rested so it's less muddy or drainage should be improved. The only disappointment in the zoo was this enclosure. We fed the giraffe which was great. The walking paths are uneven so take care. A fantastic zoo, it is our second visit with 25 years in between, better than I remembered. Go when it opens and when you hear the monkeys calling out to each other head over there and watch them interact. A wonderful experience. Going early you can watch the big cats eat their breakfast.Thank you for your fantastic feedback! - Oz2Australia177 contributionsWhat a great place to spend the day.We had a fabulous time at Mogo Wildlife Park - great range of animals, good environment and friendly staff. Being able to get up fairly close to the animals and watch their antics and daily activities was great. We saw animals that we had not previously seen and one of these was the binturong. Lovely to see the young children being involved in zoo activities as they went around. A day here is a fabulous one!Hi Oz2Australia, Thank you for your wonderful 5 star rating. We are delighted that you had a lovely day at our park. Aren't our Binturongs fabulous? You aren't alone—many people have not heard of Binturongs, and we are so privileged to work with them and to help present these fascinating animals to the world. Was so excited to visit this zoo but quite a let down. Woman at counter to get in gave no info about what was available, keeper talks etc and I actually asked if can hand feed giraffe and was told yes and $20 . I then asked for paper guide/ map for the zoo and was told don’t have theses anymore and look at plastic maps while walking around the zoo. Zoo was muddy and had huge puddles of water and staff were not friendly . Later found out there were no keeper talks for any animals which was dissapointing. Positive is animals were great and recommend hand feeding the giraffes. Zoo grounds need maintenance like shale on paths so customers don’t walk in water and mud and staff need to show more interest and smile.

Thank you, Crawfom, for your score. Your feedback helps us to continue to improve our guest experience.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed getting up close to our collection of wildlife especially hand feeding the Giraffe at the park. Feeding the giraffe is one of our most popular animal encounters enjoyed by our guests.
Regarding your disappointment concerning presentations, in line with Government recommendations and our Covid Safe plan, Keeper Talks are currently postponed at our parks. This has been in place since our reopening on the 1st of June 2020. We apologise if this was not clearly conveyed upon your arrival.
We appreciate your feedback and have forwarded your concerns to our management team. We thank you for your understanding and hope you will visit us again in the future.

Only a small zoo, but a great variety of animals. We paid $15 each extra to feed the giraffes, which was pretty cool. You could also purchase some food to feed the deers. The zoo keeper talks were very informative. Could watch the monkeys play all day!

Nice short trip from Batemans Bay. My wife was in YES mode and they must have seen her coming. $3 for each of us and the 12 year old for a very small bag of feed for the deers. That’s $1 a bag max and your feeding them for the zoo. $20 each for a handful of leaves to feed the giraffes. I felt that was more like $10 value. The line to feed went quick but we lucked out with getting the double giraffes. Felt like a 30 second experience.
Interesting variety of animals. Mostly a variety of monkeys. Animals were for the most part only active when eating, which was around lunch time. I can’t ever recall seeing a bear cat at a zoo before so that was interesting. Certainly a good half day if you have little ones as zoo wasn’t too big to get around.
Food options at the cafe were good and expected pricing. I had an $11 fish wrap which tasted great and you could tell was fresh made. Wife had a $12 burger which she really enjoyed and 12 year old boy had the fish and chips which was also good. Was a bit if a wait for the food but was good food. Happened to land a good seat watching the silver gibbons as we waited and ate and they happened to be active as it was their feed time too.
Good experience but certainly overpriced with no shows/presentations to attend. If the excuse on that front was due to COVID then pricing should be reduced.

Thank you SouthwestSide for your review, your feedback helps us to continue to improve our guest experiences.
In regards to your comments, we pride ourselves on interactive experiences with animals, which we provide at reasonable prices compared to a number of other institutions. For us, the animals and your interactions with them comes first. Great to see you are so budget conscious when you travel – its so important these days!
Giraffe feeding is a highlight of a visit to Mogo Wildlife Park, and when you see that some zoos in Canberra and Sydney will charge you $50+ or travelling to Africa is again an expensive exercise, we believe that $20 per person to hand feed these incredible creatures is great value.
Our keeper presentations are currently on hold, yes, due to COVID regulations, but you’ll notice that our animals get much closer to you that most zoos and wildlife parks, and we have lots of interpretative signage to guide you through the park as well. Mogo Wildlife Park has the most diverse collection of exotic wildlife in the country, so there’s certainly a lot to see for your ticket price.
We appreciate your understanding and we hope you will visit us again in the future.

Highlight of our stay down the coast was a trip to Mogo Zoo. I had never been here and was highly excited. Admission is $35pp and I paid extra $15 to feed the giraffes. This was by far a highlight for me, so much fun. Overall the zoo is small but we'll set out. Animal enclosures looked great. There is a large selection of monkeys and primates, with the Gibbons and gorillas being my favourite. Also very using were the cute oriental otters. We spent about 2.5 hours at the zoo and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic experience well worth the visit.
Car parking was easy as there’s plenty. The Zoo has many many great animals we spent 2hrs there could’ve spent a lot longer looking at the Gorillas, Giraffes, Rinos,Lions or Tiger etc.
Cafe has great food reasonable price inside the facility so you can eat lunch and continue looking if you wish. I’ll be going back in the future :)

Have been to Mogo Zoo many times, and it just keeps getting better and better, the constant improvements really add to the thrill of going back to see what has changed and what animals to see. It is really good value for money, I would just be cautious on the prices of food, but as with any of these places can be a little expensive particularly for families. It would be nice to see or have some more talks or tours to join on the day. But such a great day out for anyone wanting to see a great range of animals. Be pretty close to them, and the ready well-maintained enclosures or habits they occupy. High recommendation to spend time out to visit.

We decided to visit Mogo Zoo after reading about the incredible dedication of the staff during the devastating recent bushfires that burned all the way down the east coast of Australia from Queensland, through NSW and across the border into Victoria. Staff chose to stay and protect the animals here, leaving their own homes at risk. We were very impressed by what we saw. They are doing their best to help endangered animals and have breeding programs in place. It was raining on the day we visited so the animals weren't that active. The gorilla was sitting in a little rock cave in a very Buddha-like pose. When we walked back past he had grabbed his blankets and was curled up asleep. The grounds were clean and the enclosures for the animals seemed to be okay but let's face it, a pen is a pen no matter how big. I think the people running this zoo should be commended for doing their best to keep endangered animals alive and applaud their breeding program. Even if you don't like zoos, sadly the way the world is going these days, it will be up to zoos and wildlife parks to try to keep animals alive and breeding before they become extinct. Your support will help.

We visited the zoo with 3 children and it took us approximately 2 hours to walk and see all the animals. Enclosures and facilities were well kept and our children loved feeding the deer. We absolutely loved our visit to this little zoo and would definitely recommend it to others.

Are the animal encounters worth the money? I'm really keen on the rhino one!
Written December 19, 2016
Unfortunately, I didn't do the rhino experience ... but if it is anything like the monkey experience, it's worth it.
Written December 19, 2016
Feeding the giraffe seems to be popular, but I felt that the extra money involved to do this, wasn't worth it. But to some people it would be great, so everyone has their likes and dislikes, so that's all that matters.
