Barbados Catamaran Snorkeling Cruise

Sail the Caribbean waters of Barbados’ west coast aboard the El Tigre schooner on this fun half-day cruise, with transfers. Enjoy free-flow drinks, including rum punch, beer, and juice, and a light snack as you inhale views of palm trees, beach, and ocean. Stop for guided snorkeling at a reef known for turtle sightings and a shipwreck that’s a vibrant marine habitat. Upgrade for a longer adventure, with lunch.

We had a great tour guide, Dario, who was very knowledgeable about Rum, and the history of it in Barbados. The tasting here was excellent. Only thing I'd like is the option to buy some of their top shelf stuff at the end, but it seems there is so much demand it all gets shipped overseas.

I went on both the Mount Gay & Foursquare rum tours, and this was much better, as I felt I got a much better explanation of the history of the island, of rum, and of the process.

We went to Foursquare distillery under the impression that you can just walk in on a self guided tour. However, there were signs there saying it was closed due to Covid19. A gentleman kindly phoned the resident guide and he appeared a few minutes later. He explained the history and uniqueness of the distillery and took us around all the key areas ending in the bar for rym tasting (six very different rums). It cost us BD$40 per person. A tip - if you are planning on going by yourself then make sure you ring ahead and book a tour (no self guided tours allowed due to Covid19) and best way is to approach from six ways roundabout - main entrance is on the left.

We picked out this guided tour as we had never been to a distillery before. We really enjoyed seeing all the hands on work that goes into making rum. The smells were awesome & so was our guide. We also got to sample numerous rums too & also could purchase some as well. Would recommend this tour. Fun & informative.

We opted for Four Square as it is a working distillery, as opposed to two or three others on the island. It's all quite tranquil, laid back and informal, and we walked round with our driver. We didn't want to do the full tasting each, as we were going on a rum shack tour straight after, so in the Copper Still Bar at the Distillery, Janelle kindly let us share. It was fascinating to hear her sommelier-like summaries of the six samples they offered us, and based on her recommendation of Old Brigand as the best and most popular when having with cola / ginger beer etc, we duly switched to that from another local provider for the rest of the holiday.
