Definitely one of the churches worth seeing in Gallipolli old city ! There are 26 or 27 churches in the old town so do keep time to have a peek in all which are open !

This is a beautiful baroque cathedral. The interior is reminiscent of the over-the-top baroque style of the churches in Lecce.

We loved our visit to this cathedral, we arrived later in the day when the choir was rehearsing, such a treat!

Although ornate, this cathedral has mostly huge paintings that must have darkened with age. There is also a reliquary with an almost complete skeleton (notice the teeth) which we assumed was the named saint.

The Cathedral of Gallipoli is situated in the old city set amongst the narrow lanes. The front is imposing but due to the restricted viewing it is difficult to photograph. The inside is baroque and a mixture of bright ornate stone and pictures, some of...More

Lovely church in a small piazza. We went out of season and in the week so not too busy. We were able to sit quietly and contemplate without loads of people about. Nice little gist shops and café scattered around - all very welcoming

Our afternoon stroll for ice cream led us to this Cathedral. For a little town in southern Italy the frescoes are wonderful! (caveat - this is all relative)

Very impressed how the simple exterior could house such an extensive collection of religious artifacts.

Like most others in Italy mornings are the most reliable times to visit. Evening opening tends to be not so regular. But normally open 7:30 to 13:00 then again later to 9:30 ish. But things can change with special ‘days’.
