Lovely little village on the banks of the Danube. Walk up through the narrow streets to this ancient church. Cobbled square by the steps up to the church.

This charming little town gets its name from the white tower of the 14th Century fortified church. A good part of the fortifications remain, and the interior is very nice.

You reach the church through a steep covered stairway from the village square. The setting is quite dramatic, with a great few from the fortified churchyard.

In the grand scheme of things, this may be a small church as some have said. But seen from the river, in the context of the quaint towns hugging the sides of the Danube throughout the Wachau Valley, it looks quite impressive and beautiful.

You have to walk up the stairs to get to this small and beautiful church. It was an easy walk up and it was very cool inside the church. Well worth the walk
