The sculpture park is laid out very well along a path that meanders through a forest in a loop. The sculptures are separated well and most have a description about the person. We also had an audio guide which sent us into information overload. The...More

The businesses man ( a " mushroom millionaire " ) who put together this collection ( principally of soviet era sculptures ) has performed a great service for Lithuania. He has preserved key memorabilia from an important ( if somewhat tragic ) era of the...More

Having seen a few clips of the Grutas statues on TV, I was expecting them to be concentrated in a small area, but in fact, you have to walk quite a distance to see them all, which I would recommend. You can get an audio...More

The park is very sweet and worth a visit. The statues are amazing to see and very powerful. The information on communism is not very accurate (many of the plaques contradict each other). It is definately worth seeing the statues and where they stood.

This extensive forested park consists of dozens of monuments and statues, brought here from public spaces around the country after Lithuania freed itself from the Soviet Union. The sculpted pieces once honored those people that the Communist leadership considered heroes, but are now more likely...More
