The Wanaka Farmers & Gardeners Market was established as a venue for local gardeners and producers to grow a village style market. Through the years it has expanded and today remains one of the few farmers markets in the country to be held the year round. The Thursday market also now boasts arts and crafts. With visitors ranging from local regulars, to newcomers discovering amazing local goodies.

There are not many stalls, maybe 12 or so, Crafts, Soap, candles, cheese, pastries, empanadas, roast Chestnuts and flavoured waters. The chestnuts were delicious, as were the empanadas and cakes! We went at 4pm on Thursday afternoon.

Fresh fruits at reasonable price. More spacious and comfortable to shop on a Sunday morning than Queenstown. Several shop owners are the same as Queenstown so we recommend this place if you are here over the weekend. From accessories, pictures to food, a little something...More

Fabulous morning at the Sunday food and arts market. 9am to 2pm. Excellent place to buy fresh cherries and peonies. I found fabulous NZ Made table coasters of Wanaka here. Nice morning to meet talented people and purchase travel gifts 😀

Stumbled upon the Wanaka Thursday afternoon farmer's market last year on our annual visit. Small market (about 10 stores last week) with local food and craft stores. My favourite is the Pembroke Patisserie store which is always very popular. They have the BEST pastries I...More
