We camped at the free camp overnight. It gets pretty packed but the sunset and sunrise were amazing. The only downside was the flies were diabolical.

The lake is located about 40km from Pimba on the Stuart Highway. There is a large parking area right beside the highway. The edge of the lake is a short 500m walk. You can walk out onto the hard surface of the salt lake. The...More

A short walk from the carpark was a well layed out path to a spectacular salt make. We were lucky to be there when the lake had water and flat salt beds.

This was one of the more interesting places along the Stuart Highway and a surprise to come across this very large and impressive lake. There is a good viewing area just off the highway.

We pulled off the road here because we could see a bit of activity there... and once we arrived at the carpark.. we found that is because the tours stop here to show the tourists a salt lake. The base of the lake was made...More

Good Day ShellGirl Yes you can camp there, but there are no camping facilities, so you have to be self sufficient, you may also need to confirm where the camping spots are. Have a safe journey and wonderful time.

It's about 30 mins. Not too far away to the rest area.
