Marco do Equador at Ilheu das Rolas is a wonderful lookout situated where the Equator line crosses the island. From there you can get wonderful views of the main island of Sao Tome.

If you have made it this far, you really have to manage the 10-15 minute hike up the hill to the equator mark. Is it really the equator? Probably not, but it's good enough for a selfie and great views over to the main island.

Fun and exotic walk up! Place is run down but view is gorgeous! Great for pictures - go in the afternoon when all the tourists are gone!

The path leading to the monument and the surrounding area should be cleaned up. Proper directions should also be put up from the hotel. Overall worth a visit.
