About
Few wedding venues in the world can match the breath-taking approach to Harlaxton – a straight, mile-long drive across an ornate lakeside bridge, under a gatehouse to the towering, fairytale façade that is Harlaxton Manor. It floats like a vision at the end of its avenue, set amongst 300 acres of formal gardens and mature woodland. This iconic Manor House offers unparalleled views over the Vale of Belvoir in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Charmingly English, the Manor is the perfect venue for a truly romantic wedding. We can cater for a wide range of weddings – from an intimate civil ceremony and reception for 30 guests to a large evening celebration for 350 in our magnificent State Rooms. We offer the very highest levels of professional service and, because we only operate on an exclusive-use basis, you will feel very much at home in these beautiful surroundings. Harlaxton Manor is owned and operated by Harlaxton College.

Outstanding
Aug 2021
So pleased to be able to visit here on one of the few open days of the year. The architecture is outstanding, the views breathtaking and the gardens very well tended. It must be said that Harlaxton outshines Belvoir castle by a very long chalk, is cheaper and the catering second to none.

Great open day.......Bluebells everywhere
May 2021
Fabulous bluebell woods, paths through woods well signed with masses of bluebells everywhere. Looked like a sea under the trees. There is a shorter and longer walk with numbered posts and a map which tells you interesting facts relating to the numbers.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable walk. Teas and coffees and snacks available. You can book on line. On 29 March the Manor is holding a community picnic, bring your own, the gardens will also be open. Again this can be booked on line.

Bluebell woods

Went to experience the bluebell walk. This is a walk through the woods which are filled with bluebells. The views are lovely and you can choose the short or long walks taking approximately 20 or 45 minutes. The paths are clear and excellent with bark where there was mud.
The cost is £5 per head and tickets can be purchased on line or at the door.
There is a cafe serving home made cakes and drinks.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Normally this a part of an American university although there were currently no students because of Covid. It opens a few
W/E’s a year for the gardens or bluebells. Details are online and on their Facebook page

Me and partner was staying in Grantham on Saturday night so on the way we ventured out to have a look around. We came across this beauty, well what can I say absolutely beautiful. Wasn’t sure what it was until we googled it. Was hoping to go in and have a look around but found out it was a university. And they only did open days, gutted we couldn’t go in and have a look around. But we got some beautiful pictures.

This marvellous building and grounds are used as an American college and so it is only open once a year to the public. It was well worth the visit to see the interior and hear of its history. The plaster work is outstanding and the grounds beautiful. Heartily recommend a visit if you enjoy historical buildings.

The building is beautiful with splendid grounds.
They appear to have just one open day a year, and its well worth a visit.
The building is very well maintained, with a very majestic stair case and beautiful plaster work on the ceilings.
Its hard to believe that there are students boarded here during term time.
I can thoroughly recommend a visit here and I'm sure the National Trust and English Heritage would both love to get their hands on this beautiful building.

Really worth visiting when they have an open day, plenty of time to look around and have some refreshments, prices are reasonable to enter.
A lovely afternoon
