If you don't like heights, don't look down. You look right into the fissures and down into the valley but it is so incredible to see and to feel the majestic formations beneath your feet is awesome.

Wish they did not put the railing at the top that ruin what would otherwise been a perfect picture. It is like a miniature version of Preikestolen of Norway, with sheer cliff , steep dropoff high above the valley floor.

This view is far better than that at Glacier Point for one simple reason - the lack of crowds. You can't park 50 yards away and walk here - but the 2 mile round trip stroll across almost level ground will be one of the...More

The views from Taft point are amazing, but watch your step! We were at the trail head early morning midweek and a few other cars were already there. It was cold, but an easy hike out to the point, which we had basically to ourselves....More

Taft Point was a 1 mile hike from the car park mostly downhill through wooded area. The views once you get to Taft Point down into the valley are amazing. Tested my fear of heights at the point with the rail but didn't get to...More

This hike is about 1 mile each way from the parking lot and is pretty easy. For the most part, the hike is shaded but opens up once you get to Taft Point. A great spot for photos but be careful as there aren't many...More

it is a 4 miles round hike combined with Sentinel Dome, a bit long but not hard as it is mostly flat. the view is stunning from top.

we did this hike after we had done Sentinel Dome. It was easy to do both of these is the same day. The views are different but both are awesome.

We loved the Taft Point hike and overlook! it's an easy and beautiful 1 mile hike to the overlook and once you are there it's jaw-dropping. You have fantastic views of the valley floor including El Captain. We went midday on a Friday and there...More

Very easy path to get to the Point. I thought you would have to climb up to it but when you leave the carpark you are mostly on that level. There is only a small metal barrier at the highest point. I took one look...More

From what I remember, yes there is one. Be warned thought that is a SMALL one. Lots of people park on the side of the road. If you get there early enough, you will have no problem.
