I've been to Yosemite at least 8 times. I always do my traveling in the summer, and hike along the Tioga Pass area. This is the greatest hike, with fantastic scenery, and easy to moderate in skill level. It is truly amazing. Waterfalls, interesting buildings,...More

It is around 1100 feet of altitude gain to a high mountain lake at 10,000 feet Great views and very peaceful. There were trout rising in the lake but nobody was fishing. I believe they might be brook trout.

Easy hike from Tuolumne meadows campground to the lake, not strenuous at all, with lovely views of surrounding peaks.

It is not that far and the trail is not difficult although steep during the first mile. We debated whether to take off our shoes and boots wading the last river to get to the lake. It was definitely worth it. I jumped into the...More

When my best friend and her husband came to visit me in California, both Alex (my husband) and I were totally enthused where to take them. Elizabeth Lake brings the feeling of Mother Nature watching over us. It's so beautiful!

We only had a few hours to visit but I'm so glad we got some time here. The views are out of this world. Some of it doesn't even look real. We got some great photos. It's well worth a visit

The hike starts at the back end of Tuolumne campgrounds and is pretty much uphill all the way. We ended up at the lake about 2 hours later and claimed up about 1200 feet. The elevation at the lake was about 10k feet. The views...More

Tioga pass highway 120 is closed so you can't get to the lake in the winter. Once they open Tioga road usually in late May or June (depending on snow) it's a magnificent hike.
