Artist Point...a place not to be missed
May 2021 • Couples
When you locate parking which is very difficult during peak times, Artist Point makes you say...Wow...this is the place. The many colors displyed by nature almost overwhelm the senses and make you feel welcome. The number of visitors trying to get that group photo or just the right photo is like being at the mall during a busy holiday season, however there are moments that make any inconveniences that are experienced worthwhile.

Don't miss this viewpoint!
Jun 2021
Do not miss this beautiful view! Just a short walk from the parking lot at the end of South Rim Road, with accessible pathways to the view. The view here is breathtaking, amazing, definitely well worth the short drive! The best view anywhere in the park.

Incredible
May 2021
Wow is all I can say! This point offers a great view of the beauty the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. A person can see why TR was influenced to make this the first national park just by this point

South Loop Splendor
Aug 2020 • Family
Artist Point offers up a fantastic view of the falls and canyon. There are multiple views like this on the north and south loop however here at artist point you can really capture that iconic image. Plenty of parking and other trails to venture.

Must do viewpoint in Yellowstone. Pictures are almost surreal!
Sep 2020
As far as viewpoints go in Yellowstone, this is a must do. The colors and the dramatic falls would be enough for the best visual experience and photo op, but when looking at our pictures with the contrast of the river and the canyon walls, they almost look like professional paintings. (I don't have an expensive camera with multiple lenses, by the way.)

Must See before you die
Sep 2020
We crossed Chittenden bridge across the Yellowstone river; stopping first at Uncle Toms to view the smaller upper Falls, then on to Artist Point to view the MAGNIFICENT lower falls and the unbelievable colors of the canyon. It is IMPOSSIBLE to describe the majesty of this waterfall and canyon colors, so we will not even try,

Worthy of a stop
Oct 2020
I almost didn't stop to visit. The first day, I passed the turn. I decided to stop on day 2 of my visit and I'm glad I did. Although crowded and almost difficult to find a parking spot, the views were worth the stop. It's like a mini grand canyon and there's a waterfall. I couldn't see the rainbow that randomly appears. It was a bit too crowded for my liking and most were not wearing masks. I stayed back and took what photos I could.

Great place to see the Yellowstone River, Lower Falls
Oct 2020
This is an easy place to get to by driving north on the Grand Loop road and turning off onto the Rim Road. Drive to the end of the Rim Road. There will be a long parking lot. From there walk down the path at the end to the viewing point. It is less than 100 yards down a good slope (all paved) and then turn around. The view is of the falls and the river. Great view and easy to get to. I highly recommend this for anyone coming to the park!

Like a fantasy!
Oct 2020 • Couples
Can truly understand why this is labeled Artists Point. You breath nearly stops seeing this view. When the sun hits it it’s like out of a fantasy movie. Perfect backdrop for pictures. There were alot of people the day we went but it was worth stopping.

Favorite Canyon View
Sep 2020
The view from Artist Point is my favorite. The late afternoon sun ruined my photos on our first day so I returned at dawn on the following day. Artist Point is a very short walk from the parking lot. The dawn view was breathtaking. It’s not to miss.

The additional benefit of the early morning drive from the Lake Hotel was the wildlife, including a grizzly bear, enroute in the Hayden Valley.
