Must See
Aug 2021
You cannot visit Yellowstone and not visit the Midway Geyser Basin. The features here are incredible and look like something a painter would create!

not as crowded as some of the other areas where you see very similar things, so you will appreciate stopping

Colorful Collection
Jul 2021
This is a smaller collection of geysers not far from Old Faithful. The springs here are particularly colorful compared to other areas of the park.

Short walk to fabulous beauty
Jun 2021
We enjoyed this area of Yellowstone very much. Its a nice relaxing walk along the boardwalk to see the various springs & fountains. The Grand Prismatic is amazing. We loved seeing the colors. So beautiful.

Great views of the springs!
Jun 2021 • Family
Fantastic area to stop and see the Grand Prismatic Spring! It’s like you are walking on another planet. You will see the spring from an eye level, which is awesome, but if you want the overlook you need to drive past this spot to the Ferry Falls trail and take the overlook trail to view from above. This is also one of the most popular areas in the park, so arrive early prior to 9am at the latest to get a good parking spot during busy times.

Nature's Beauty
May 2021
The beautiful geysers and hot springs of the Yellowstone caldera are a constant reminder that this is what remains of a once active volcano.

1/2 Mile Trail With Fantastic Views
Dec 2020 • Family
The Midway Geyser Basin has a perfect 1/2 mile trail that allows you to take in the highlight. Opal, Turquoise, and of course Grand Prismatic. Really liked Midway as there are some significant sights to see.

Can be crowded, but a quick must stop in Yellowstone.
Sep 2020
Even on a cold day in September the boardwalks were fairly crowded. This is a relatively quick and very easy walk on the boardwalks. Grand Prismatic Spring is the star, but is best viewed from the overlook on the Fairy Falls trail. My favorite was the Excelsior Geyser.

Small but beautiful basin
Sep 2020
This small basin located along the Firehole River contains some of the most beautiful thermal features in the Park. The Grand Prismatic Spring is the most significant, and one of the most striking for its colors.

wonderful experience
Aug 2020
Take the time to enjoy all the geysers and watch their colors change with the clouds and sun. Don't ignore the smaller or less famous geysers--some of them are REALLY cool!
