This is a wonderful area to see in Yellowstone NP. It has large volcanic geysers erupting with mud continuously. It was a great walk on the boardwalk with steam rising around everywhere.

This basin has a large variety of different thermal features including the very interesting "Mud Volcano" itself and the unique Dragon Mouth spring.

Definitely hot and definitely smelly but oh so mesmerizing. Geothermal activity in another light in Yellowstone. Definitely so fun.

This is probably the smelliest area of Yellowstone park with a very strong rotten egg sulphuric smell that was almost unbearable in the heat. It was still very interesting to see with good parking nearby.

This was totally unexpected and another geothermal wonder. Bubbly mud that's heated. Wow. Interesting to view and photograph.

The Mud Volcano area features a short uphill/downhill boardwalked loop through a few thermal features, highlighted by the Mud Volcano and Dragons Mouth Spring, After a few days in the park, we had seen a lot of thermal highlights, but this felt different enough to justify the stop. Part of the boardwalk was closed because of bison activity, which only added to the charm.

This was a great place on my sightseeing stop. It has an extrusion geyser.
I'm so excited to see it happen in front of my eyes.
