Oh boy - if this one goes off

The crater’s huge. I definitely don’t want to be in Wyoming when this one goes again... it’s adjacent to the absolutely not to miss Grand Prismatic Spring. Be sure to visit!

Jaw droppingly huge geyser crater
Aug 2019
This geyser is located in Midway Geyser Basin and is the first feature you arrive at. It is jaw droppingly huge with deep blue boiling water. You are sure to be bathed in its steam. On your way up the hill to the geyser, you can see its colorful runoff into Firehole River. Although it is mostly dormant now, it was very active in the 1880s. It is the largest geyser and still discharges copious amounts of water. It tends to be overshadowed by Grand Prismatic Spring with its shading colors from blue, green, yellow to the oranges and browns of its runoff but don't miss this one.
