Worth the Walk
Jul 2021
This is worth walking the entire area. It was hot when we went, but worth the walking. We weren't sure what we'd see. Old Faithful was cool, but walking the whole area was interesting.

Best Attraction in Yellowstone
Jul 2021
This area was probably my favorite part of the park. This area includes Old Faithful and the area behind it. This is also the largest concentration of geysers and springs in the park; there are literally hundreds of them. There is a paved path and wooden walkways all through the area; if you choose to walk all of it, you will be going 4-5 miles total. There are more photo opportunities than you can imagine in this area.

Make sure you bring plenty of water. It was 90 but our family completed the loop. Pretty amazing to realize 60% of the worlds geysers are right here. The nearby general store was a must stop for cold sodas.

Becomes repetitive

Too busy for my taste. Once you see a couple you get a picture of what they all look like in my opinion.

Lion Geyser eruption
Jun 2021
We walked along the boardwalk of the upper geyser basin after watching Old Faithful erupt. We were lucky to see Lion Geyser erupt as it only does so at various times -quiet intervals may last from 6 hours to several days.

Unique

What is the most unusual - the different colours, some like a real gold and others as a lava from inside a volcano

From another planet!
Jun 2021 • Family
What an awesome experience going through the basin and looking at all of the many geysers! I’m many ways, much better than Old Faithful as much more to see. I recommend going early to avoid the crowds and also because on a chilly morning the view is much better with all the steam! There are restrooms and food nearby at this stop. Highly recommend!

Plan ahead for some excitement
Jun 2021
My biggest advice is to download the Yellowstone app to see when the expected eruptions are set to occur. We saw that there were multiple eruptions in a 2 hour window so we booked it there to see them all. We saw Grand, Castle, Riverside, Daisy (from the trail) all before heading to Old Faithful. Old Faithful is the most frequent so plan around the rest and save it for the end. Also lots of shops and food nearby so you can plan a good deal of time here.

One of Many Highlights
May 2021
Interesting walkabout. Visited in the morning in early May and crowds were low. Easy walk, even for someone like me who is balance challenged. One of the many highlights in the park.
