I am not a fit person, but my knees still work. This climb is not for the faint of heart, but I made it and so you can. The payoff is the spectacular views and then a tour through an amazing cave. It is a...More

Before you can see the three caves that make up Timpanogos Cave NM, you have to hike a 1.5 mile trail that ascends 1,092 vertical feet! It is really all uphill! There are no flat places! You have about one and a half hours to...More

We hiked with 7 adults today including my 65 year old father. Believe the other reviews and the website when they say this is strenuous. I was a little worried about my dad. It was tiring for the rest of us as well but doable...More

We booked this cave tour online for the first Sunday morning after they opened for the season last month. Yes, you have to plan ahead, but booking online is worthwhile. We had an 8:30AM start time, which was early but worked well. The temps were...More

This was a great national monument. We took a wonderful hike and guided cave tour. It's important to get there as early as you can so you can get a tour booked. The day we were there, all the tours eventually filled up. We had...More

Timp cave is a fun place to visit especially on a warm day. The hike up takes almost an hour, but it is on a paved path. Once inside there are really cool formations.

Steep, short hike (paved), up to a great tour of an interesting cave system. Certainly worth going at least once, can be hard for old/unhealthy/young, due to the steep nature of the hike up. Switchbacks and fairly big altitude gain. Good tour guides, pretty caves,...More

This trail is NOT easy but it is doable if you pace yourself. 99 year olds have done it in 3 hours. I like to take the full hour and a half given to hike but you can request more time by leaving earlier if...More

Access to the caves is via a paved trail through wonderful tree lines mountains. If it's a hot day, you will appreciate the cool caves. The hike is somewhat steep in certain areas, but overall very nice if you take your time and enjoy the...More

I am not real familiar with dates. It can very depending on how much snow was built up on the path over the winter. That could be the case this year.

Susan and David, the opening dates vary from year to year depending upon snow accumulation, budget, and the needs for repairs to the trail before opening. Because the trail to the cave is on the north facing slope of a... More

I would think you can use the pass for any tour. It doesn't make sense to have someone with a Senior NP pass to have to do a crawling more strenuous tour. I would call them and make sure though.
