One of the many short walks takes you to the precipice of this magnificent overlook view. The paved walk is only about one block long, and the overlook's view is well worth the effort. Parking is ample, and signs easily identify this top attraction.

This overlook is pretty spectacular. With a place to park and spend a little time, one can really appreciate what Teddy Roosevelt must have seen and thought about to preserve all of this for US. Beautiful!!!

The Badlands Overlook is one of several of the main overlooks on the Scenic Loop Drive in the South Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The 36-mile drive is well worth the time. Soak up the scenery!

This was a nice overlook, but we never really saw any wildlife. We went in the beginning of August and it was extremely hot and humid.

Well worth a stop when you're driving through the park. In late September, there were no buses and very few others around.

We stopped here before visiting the main part of the park. There is a small visitor center here with a very helpful ranger so it is worth a stop. The view is spectacular. There are also walking trails if you want to take a stroll.

Be sure to stop here for a many mile view of the ND badlands, one of the many cool places to stop in the park.

The North Dakota Badlands are nothing like the ones in South Dakota. You will be overcome by the sense of the wild.

I'm pretty sure they are; right by the Visitor Center are at least two really nice overlooks. Your best bet is to contact TRNP via the website or phone to confirm; the Rangers are very helpful. You also should ask about the... More
