Overview
More
Built in 1904 for two Riordan families, Riordan Mansion is an impressive reminder of gracious living in a small, territorial logging town. The historic building is an Arizona treasure — a remarkable example of Arts and Crafts style architecture featuring a rustic exterior of log-slab siding, volcanic stone arches, and hand-split wooden shingles. The expansive home has forty rooms, over 13,000 square-feet of living area, and servants' quarters. The Riordan residence was designed by the creator of Grand Canyon's El Tovar Hotel, Charles Whittlesey.

We enjoyed our visit. The house is a bit underwhelming when you pull up, but there is a ton on the inside and some of it is pretty unique. The staff were great and the tour was informative, although a bit fast. The biggest downfall...More

The house is larger than it looks on the exterior and the decor in the downstairs rooms is impressive. It has over 40 rooms but the tour is limited to one side of the 2 family house, the common area, and the second home has...More

Tours every hour, $10 per adult admission. Quite a lot of original furnishings and unique decor really show how the wealthy lived in early 1900's. Some interesting architecture. Good tour, but the docent really raced through the information to get to everything in one hour.

Amazing that must of the furnishings are original to the house. Our guide had lots of interesting family stories to tell which added to the tour.

The Riordan Mansion is a piece of Flagstaff history. Two houses joined by a great room built by brothers. Hourly guided tours take you through one family’s residence with insights into the family and their impact on the history of this city. Takes about two...More

We took the tour which was just fine. We felt the tour would have been more meaningful if we had more ties to Flagstaff. Lots of history of the area but if we didn't have a guide I would not have given it three stars....More
