Stopped here while at Stones River Battlefield. The park service has done an excellent job explain ingredients this is the oldest civil war monument. They have also I stalled plaques that decrimes what is engraved on the monument that weathering has made difficult to read....More

This site is across the road from the main battlefield. There is a small monument a short distance from a parking lot. Inside the monument are several headstones and just outside the stone wall are 2 others. There are several information signs along the way....More

This is an interesting brief stop on your tour of the Stones River battlefield (go to the Visitor Center first). This is the oldest monument still standing on a Civil War battlefield in the entire country!
