Canyon Road is Santa Fe's historic arts district. Home to over eighty art galleries, as well as boutiques, restaurants, and historic adobe homes, it is the cultural center of Santa Fe. The galleries on Canyon Road show everything from traditional southwestern Pueblo pottery and quintessential Western art to contemporary abstraction and computer and digital art. Take time to explore; there's a little something for everyone here.

I found this area to be over rated. Except for the three excellent restaurants located there I wouldn’t go back to see all the over priced art. Limited parking, poor sidewalks, and over rated art galleries. Personally I found what they call sidewalks there to...More

An amazing array of art and artifacts awaits you when you stroll down Canyon Road. The collection of stores, art galleries, and places to eat are worth taking the drive or walk through Canyon Road. There are so many entrepreneurs there and they all have...More

For anyone who loves art of all types, this is the place to go. There is literally something here for everyone. The prices range from the very affordable to the ridiculously expensive and everything in between. Canyon Road is reason in itself to visit Santa...More

My husband had run through Canyon Rd. earlier in the day and thought we should go back and explore. It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours browsing the galleries and enjoying some people watching. Even if you are not into art it...More

Going up Canyon Road is a delightful and fun experience. I’ve never seen anything like it. Samples of the art work are displayed at many of the galleries. Just great fun to visit.

There are some good galleries - contemporary as well as traditional native American art. Art House is a great place for contemporary video art. Geronimo and the Compound are excellent restaurants and the Tea House is a great place for a break.

Canyon Road has always been a unique, beautiful place; a wonderful walk to look at the sculpture and art. It is still worth the time BUT it has lost so much appeal ( to this person, at least) over the years. Many decades ago Canyon...More

Art fix for art lovers. Start at the bottom of Canyon Rd. and work your way up one side of the road and down the other side. Great restaurants, cafe's, and of course, ART for everyone. Fine art, contemporary art, sculptures...amazing to see and experience.

Wow...what a disappointment! Its not that the work per se is not skillful, but the range is much narrower than expected. The old west realism component is just not my taste, and good grief it's been SO many years since Georgia O. The walking experience...More

Hi Lisa, yes, there are lots at both ends of Canyon Road. One is free; the other is paid. However, I think it would be difficult to park a camper there. You might try looking for a spot along E. Alameda St., which runs... More

Hi Pam! Great question. While a guide is not necessary to visit Canyon Road, a tour can offer insight and a nuanced (and fun!) experience of the area and of the artwork on view. Some folks find it helpful to take a tour... More

Street parking along Canyon Road is free, but it can be tricky during busy times. Parking along Alameda Street, which runs parallel to Canyon Road, is also free. There is a small, free parking lot at the beginning of Canyon... More
