Dating back to 1883, the repurposed Pearl Brewery has given new life to this up-and-coming area of San Antonio. Besides being known for its remarkable architecture, it now boasts dozens of restaurants, cafes and shops that draw lively crowds on weekends. Explore all the world-class eateries and book a stay in a hotel to enjoy the area to the fullest—including the twice weekly farmers’ market. Don’t forget to take a pleasant stroll along the adjacent River Walk as well. – Tripadvisor

    Definitely visit!
I’m glad so many people mentioned this area to me during my time here in San Antonio. I went earlier tonight, and it was great! Very pretty architecture. Lots of food options (restaurants, bars, etc.). There were also various booths there - not sure if this is the norm or just when I was there since Fiesta starts tomorrow, but that was cool too. I got some good photography in and walked around in the area before and after eating at Southerleigh. 10/10 recommend this area to visit!

    Change of Pace from Riverwalk
You must stop in and browse through the Hotel Emma as it is worth seeing. If going to the area go for the farmers market or to have lunch at one of the many restaurants. We sampled lunch at Bakery Lorraine but many of the others also looked tempting. For the bookies among you The Twig is a must visit independent bookshop. The other shops are interesting but expensive. It is a nice change from the Riverwalk. I have heard you can walk it but is at least a mile or two along a deserted portion of the riverwalk. We took Uber from Riverwalk.

    Busy but very nice
We visited the Pearl the evening before the Eclipse of 2024, it was quite busy. Still we could find a parking spot in the large garage. Enjoyed our burgers and beer from Henbit in the Foodhall. Altogether very much worth of a visit. All restaurants are outside of the regular chains, very refreshing!

    Nice place to walk around
We visited on a hot Friday evening in late May. We weren’t in the mood of shopping, but instead walked around the Pearl area. It’s interesting from an architectural point of view. The highlight for me was walking along the Riverwalk in the Pearl district. There’s a very pretty garden section with several small waterfalls, and the Grotto is just a short walk .

This location is a definite to do when in San Antonio. Good variety of restaurants and shops set in a very appealing setting. Be sure to visit the Emma hotel while there. If you are able, take the Riverwalk to get there from downtown as it is picturesque and relaxing. The coffee shop in the Emma offers great coffee and delicious baked goods.

Great stop for something different in San Atlanta. This is the old Pearl Brewery that has been redone into a nice shopping event area. The original Brewery has been turned into the Hotel Emma. The can house are high end apartments. There is a food hall. On Saturday and Sunday mornings there are a variety of food and craft vendors. The Riverwalk does extend out to the Pearl. It is a distance from downtown. It is a stop on the hop on and off tour. Great place to see

We had a day to kill in San Antonio and a local suggested that we visit here. The grounds had several vendors selling their wears and the area had several good restaurants. The area was safe, the prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was great! We enjoyed the food and the whole area, I would highly recommend that you add this as a stop on your next visit to San Antonio.
