Great buzz and huge crowd of interesting looking folks brought the various shows alive. Art was very creative and engaging. Lovely to stroll through after dinner

Wasn't impressed, found it strange and in an awkward area. They do need a bigger profile and some better signage. Few people hanging around seemed sketchy but we felt pretty much safe.

I wandered through this area based on a suggestion from someone who used to live in town. As a complex, it was hard to know where to go. We parked in the somewhat large parking lot between the buildings and the river. There was no recognizable entrance so we just started wandering. We asked a shopkeeper where to go and it appeared that we were where we were supposed to be and there wasn't a whole lot to the area. The art in the shops were mostly, though not all, local.
We paid the $5 to check out the proper Blue Star Contemporary Museum. There were only 2 other people inside so it was pretty quiet. The art inside was interesting. Like any art, some things spoke to me and other things didn't. I was glad I checked it out.

Thank you for coming in to view the exhibitions at Blue Star Contemporary!
I will share your feedback about signage with the Blue Star Arts Complex management.

There are art exhibits that mostly feature local artists. That's great as the major art museums of the city cover more established artists from the U.S. And the rest of the world. This area is also home to a number of excellent restaurants and bars. Lots happenings always

Blusestar is great to have in SA but it often features
too much local culture at the expense of the rest of
the world in the art it exhibits. Room for improivement
and open mindedness.

Maybe this is a place that is only "open" to the public during certain events???? We went on a Saturday afternoon and there were maybe three "art galleries" open. The first was preparing for a "runway show"... but we were obviously not cool enough to be told when or what or why. Pretty much ignored after that comment. The second was the ostentatious 'two bricks stacked together' and 'two yellow lines on a white piece of paper' kind of art, with price tags to match. The third was just a shop...nothing particularly memorable about it. I read later that the development and cool eateries had out-priced the rents for actual artists....not sure if that is the case or not. Defn not worth a visit.

Hello! I apologize for the delay in response; we only recently claimed our business page. I am a little confused about your review, as it seems to be mostly for the other businesses in the Blue Star Arts Complex (and the Complex itself) (www.bluestarartscomplex.com), and not the museum, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit space and not a commercial gallery. Unfortunately, we were closed for renovations in Summer 2016, and we were not open to the public at that time. We do hope you visit again and share your review!

I love this place. There's always something interesting going on here! Went to a Mystic Festival last month on a Sunday that had all sorts of different vendors. Good food, drink and art, what more could you ask for?!!

I love this place! The entire complex is wonderful. The people are extremely nice and the Brick is such a treat to visit on Sundays with all the artists. They have a parking lot so no need to try to find on street parking, a huge plus for the area.

So it's well hidden if your not familiar with the area but still in a nice safe area. I used my travel guide from my hotel to find things to do since I'm only here traveling and the book said it was free on the day I went but when I got there the guy working the front desk said that was wrong. And since I had used gps to get there I went ahead and payed but he insisted that my guide was old but it wasn't it was dated March 2015. So that was my only disappointed I felt like that was false advertisement.
