We stumbled across the visitor's center on our first trip to Salem. It is mostly a gift shop, with a few ship models celebrating Salem's maritime history. I did not view the movies as there was a fee, but now wish I had. They also...More

It isn't the easiest location to find. It's tucked away and easy to miss. Parking is hard. We just ran in to purchase a national park pin. It was well staffed, new looking building, clean, with volunteers answering questions.

Nice clean bathroom. But that's it. Staff could have cared less about answering our questions about what to see and do.

The parking garage next door to the visitor is a great location to explore the old Salem neighborhoods which include the National Park Service Visitor Center and several museums. The Visitor Center provides a brochure for the walking tour and guide to other options. Restrooms...More

A little disappointed that there weren't any historical displays or artifacts to brouse through. The staff seemed a little bored.

The people were very helpful in finding locations throughout Salem. The restrooms were very clean. Fun activities for the children.
