We actually stumbled upon this cemetery. It is tucked back off a street right in the middle of everything. We were so interested to see headstones from the 1600's. Very interesting place.

We did this and The Salem Witch Trials Memorial at the same time since they’re right next to each other. We were there early enough to walk through and read the headstones. It does close at dusk so don’t plan a ‘spooky’ night visit.

Right next to the Witch Trial Memorials...beautiful spot for photographs but be mindful, these are grave sites, don't let your kids run freely around here and try to be quiet and respectful of the dead. Tons of very old graves, some dating back to the...More

Centrally located, a visit to the Old Burying Point is another illustration of the long and interesting history of Salem.

Worthwhile to take 5-10mins out of your day to visit. Some very old grave stones dating back to the late 1600's. Unsure if the headstones are all original - if they are then they are well preserved.

Cemeteries provide a look into the history of the town. This storied town is no exception. There is a grave of a Mayflower passenger. Some sites have markers into the 1800s. It was amazing to see how well preserved the stones were after how much...More

We spent on two minutes reading some of the grave markers. It is worth a 3 to 4 minute stop to visit through the cemetery.

This place is packed with history. Take the time to walk, read, and reflect on what occurred here through the years.

This old burial site is smack dab in the middle of town. It's nice to meander through and read the stones and it almost made me feel as though I was in Europe. Well worth the stop.

I don't think dogs are allowed. The cemetery is very small and there are places to sit right outside the actual burial area, including the adjacent Salem Witch Memorial.

There is really no need to book a tour to see the Old Burying Point Cemetery, and there is a very useful map/chart at one end (check the photo I attached to my review). And do not miss the small memorial area for the Salem... More

Free to stroll through (lots of the spooky tours in the area stop by here and talk about the graves if you wanted to pay for that experience).
