Beautiful architecture and construction

Unique among religious buildings of the 19th century. A marvelous building that compares to the religious centers of the world although not flamboyant.

A beautiful place to sit and watch a free concert.
Jul 2019
We walked in right before a concert and were graciously allowed to stay and listen. It was a big choir with a few instrumental soloists.

Gorgeous and historic!

The staff/docents were welcoming, accommodating, informative, and warmly received us. The architecture is gorgeous, particularly the stained glass. Would love to hear the huge pipe organ sometime!

Another stunning building. The Sisters will ask any questions you may have of the building and give you some history. Fabulous!

Small and Beautiful
Dec 2019 • Solo
This was just one of two church buildings, besides the visitor centers, that non-LDS members could freely access.

Upon entering I was greeted by two very welcoming missionaries from Hong Kong. I actually learned a lot more than I expected from them about the building and church itself.

The building was constructed with lots of detail from the white spires, stained glass windows and woodwork. The lighting at night enhanced it. The organ here occupied the center and weekly concerts or recitals also took place. It was interesting to note that attendance was limited to 8 years of age and older.

Worthy of short visit
Dec 2019 • Solo
The Assembly hall can be viewed free of charge and there will be friendly volunteers inside to tell you a bit about it. It is a nice townhall type of place with a relatively new organ. When I visited Temple Square this was the only edifice you could see because the Temple is off limits for non-believers, and the Tabernacle was closed for recarpetting.

Beautiful building.
Nov 2019
We had only a short time to spend in Temple Square and didn't get to go inside. However, the exterior of Assembly Hall is beautiful. Built in 1882, this was an early meeting Hall for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Assembly Hall has beautiful white spires and impressive brick work. Next time, I'm going inside.

Very beautiful structure
Nov 2019
You must stop by temple square and visit this building, they will tell you all about the work and sacrifice involved in building this structure by the early settlers of the Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter-day Saints.

Historic Meeting Hall
Aug 2019
Built in 1882, this was an early meeting Hall for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Assembly Hall has beautiful white spires. Details of the interior woodwork are beautiful. It has beautiful stained glass windows. There is an elegant organ (but smaller than the one in the Conference Center or Tabernacle) centered up front. This was one of our stops on the Temple Grounds guided tour. I was surprised how close together the pews were arranged - not much leg room. Be sure to see the Mormon Pioneer Monument and the Seagull Monument located in the plaza just outside the Assembly Hall. Plenty of opportunity for photography here.

Interesting Walking Tour Stops here!
Sep 2019 • Solo
The two young female guides who explained to me the various exhibits inside the South Visitor Center invited me to join their tour of this attraction as well as that of the Tabernacle.

The other name of the Assembly Hall is the "Church". Services are held here, NOT at the Temple or at the Tabernacle'.

It has a beautiful organ that is much smaller than that of the Tabernacle. It also has pianos; Mormons love to sing their songs. Pews or benches are made of pine wood that is plentiful in the area.. Its second level has additional seating capacity.
