All things Pacific Island are celebrated at the annual Pasifika Festival, a weekend-long food and culture event dedicated to the region's culture. Held in the sprawling green space of Western Springs, this free festival is made up of 11 nationally themed "villages," each with its own stage and market featuring craft stalls and food carts serving up island cuisine.

We had a day to kill in Auckland, so spent a few hours at the Pasifika Festival. Despite the muddy fields (too much rain), it was fun walking around all the sections, each representing a Polynesian country. There was music, dancing, food, and crafts. Loved...More

We were in Auckland near the end of March this year and found out about this festival and express buses running from downtown direct to the festival from the Britomart transportation hub. Go early as we were advised and plan on spending the whole day...More

This event is one of the most interesting events in the Auckland area. We learned so much more of the Pacific Island partners culture and how it is so close to the Maori culture. The food was really good too.
