We stayed in our friends beach house here just 50 metres away from the water And it's truely an amazing place to relax and enjoy. It's quite a drive from Auckland but it's all worth it.

Driving 90 mile beach is a must and I would recommend you take a tour to do this. Harrison's Cape Runner tour is an excellent way of doing the beach and much more

A small bus load of tourists on board with a great tour guide who was very informative. Very friendly chap and came out with some good jokes. Definitely recommend - absolutely amazing sand hills.

So glad we did this! It was the most incredible experience - we had so much fun and the weather was amazing. I imagine it wouldn't be so great wet and windy and freezing cold but our day here was just awesome.

Saw this with Harrisons Tour - the only tour company able to drive almost the full length of the beach due to the type of vehicle. Views were amazing.

Just to say you have done it! Driving down the beach totally secluded and stopping for a picnic - a great place to watch the ocean and uninterrupted views in each horizon

Ninety mile beach is the Must Go place when you come to New Zealand. It's nice to take a one day bus trip there. The long beach drive is so much fun and the unique view of the beach is unforgettable.

This ninety miles beach literally is a "highway" where cars can run (allowed) up to 100km/h. Probably it is unwise to let the dog free running and playing without leash.

If you are in a hire car, they are not insured for driving on the beach. If you are in your own personal car, then yes you can because it is a public highway. However to access the beach in the north you need to drive up... More

Absolutely. The beach is only usable for a car when low tide, just be careful of soft sand. The beach has few access roads so make sure of your exit or just drive back the same way after visiting beach. Also consider... More
