Didn't expect that much from an art museum in a town of less than 5000, but this was a pleasant surprise. The ground floor is filled with really lovely paintings by a European, Emanuel A. Petersen, very evocative of the land and people. I'm sure...More

Very interesting collection of paintings by an early polar painter (European), and a strongly curated collection of contemporary Greenlandic artists. Upstairs is a rotating exhibit. The Cape Dorset prints were beautiful and an important contribution to current printmaking.

A beautiful insight on Greenlandic art from different times and styles. The host is very kind and helpful; he's passionate about his museum. In the attic there's an exposition on famous explorers of the polar regions, impressive!

I could have spent hours in this art museum. It houses a wide range of painting and also other art works, like tupilaks. There is a collection of paintings by Auzias and many books on Greenlandic art.

Popped in for a visit after the Town museum as the ticket covered both. Not usually an art fan, but the collection was very interesting with paintings from the beginning of the settlement and up to date photos showing the change in development. Definitely worth...More
