A beautiful insight on Greenlandic art from different times and styles. The host is very kind and helpful; he's passionate about his museum. In the attic there's an exposition on famous explorers of the polar regions, impressive!

I could have spent hours in this art museum. It houses a wide range of painting and also other art works, like tupilaks. There is a collection of paintings by Auzias and many books on Greenlandic art.

We had admittance to this art museum with our museum admittance. we loved looking at all the pictures over the two floors. The staff were lovely and there were clean toilets.

Emanuel Petersen came to Greenland from Denmark by a coincidence. He had worked as a theater decorator and as a marine painter at the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory. He fell in love with (understandably) Greenland, it's nature, the people and the light. All of this...More

Our boat trip to Disko Island was delayed so we had a morning to explore Ilulissat. We went to both museums (I think it was a single ticket). The art museum was a very pleasant surprise. We liked the art and the gentleman that showed...More

For a small town the art gallery was a surprisingly good exhibition. Set on 2 floors there was an interesting collection of scrimshaw on the first floor.
