- pepsiThornton Cleveleys, United Kingdom143 contributionsStunning placeAbsolutely beautiful place, really enjoyed our walk and seeing this breathtaking waterfall. Unfortunately we arrived quite late in the day so only managed to use the car park for the last hour before it was closing. I do think charging the one price is a bit steep for those not able to benefit from more time there. Also I feel the place would benefit from having bins to deposit dog waste as there was none around unless you walked quite a way down the main road. A lot of people wouldn't have done this and will end up littering the place if some bins aren't provided.Visited April 2023Traveled with familyWritten April 6, 2023
- ads_213Derby, United Kingdom25 contributionsBeautiful waterfallBeautiful place well worth a visit. The whole family enjoyed walking to the top, right from our 4 year old daughter to 65 year old grandad, although the walk might be unsuitable for some. The toilets are are poor and you have to pay but don't let that put you off. We only had an ice cream at the cafe so can't really comment.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 9, 2023
- Geogal2013Northampton, United Kingdom55 contributionsGood experienceHad lovely visit to the falls for a couple of hours. Weather was changeable but the sun did shine. I walked up to the top which was quite hard going but doable. There are two routes, one up the rocky hill, shorter but harder and the second which is a longer yet smoother route. I came back down this one. Nice views but scary as there is no way to view without peering over the edge which I would not recommend. Sad to see the number of people who thought it was okay to park outside on the road because they did not wish to pay for the parking charges. If you are not willing to pay the £5 which I am presuming goes towards the upkeep, then I suggest you may not wish to bother as it is not even ground and could be damaging to the car. It does say on the website that parking outside now incurs a £70 fine so not sure if that is being enforced. Did also witness a family pilfering large rocks and boulders in carrier bag and under coats and sadly had the whole family involved. They had to carry them back to the car which they had parked outside, so not paying for the privilege of visiting or the rock supply.Visited April 2023Written April 13, 2023
- Winternest17 contributionsDon't be sheepish!Take it easy down the narrow lane to reveal the beautiful waterfall. Paid parking, a cafe, short walk to the falls down even path. You can walk to the top up steep tracks & sheep trails. Spectacular views.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 28, 2023
- Rebecca13 contributionsNature Has a High PriceBeautiful waterfall, and scenery, plus the drive to the waterfall is stunning too, although tricky, as it is a single track mostly, and many people are peeved to slow down, and utilise passing places! However, the parking / facilities at the waterfall are expensive. We were only there for an hour, and had to pay £5 to park. Toilets cost 50p to enter, and that’s an OK price, as I was expecting pristine facilities, but nope! Gross and stinky. Wet floors, cover with I hope, water, hardly any loo roll, and watered down hand wash, and the smell of urine was overpowering. We wanted a drink, but inside the cafe you could only pay in cash. In all, was over priced. I understand businesses wish to make money, but it’s a shame to fleece people for nothing much in return. Yes, the waterfall is beautiful, but it would be more beautiful without feeling as though you’ve been conned to park, and pee!Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 16, 2023
- Janet S1 contributionWaterfall parking and cafeBeautiful waterfall , however it has become very crowded from previous years . Car park a rip off , £5 to park , toilets also expensive . Cafe dirty and expensive and miserable staff . Very scruffy . Will not be going backVisited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 7, 2023
- Maps211583632944 contributionsStunning waterfallStunning waterfall , the bottom is amazing and kids can get in the water if they wish . The walk up to the top is steep but you can take a easy path with beautiful views . Took about 30 mins then had a nice rest at the top of the waterfall . Cheap day out if you take a picnic and just pay the £5 parkingVisited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 11, 2023
- Katy BWootton, United Kingdom109 contributionsNot very dog friendlyWe drove and parked. Charge is a flat £5, but as people stated maintenance must be relatively expensive. Dogs aren’t allowed in the cafe and there doesn’t appear to be service outside. This was a shock coming from the Isle of Wight were most places are dog accessible and they usually get a biscuit. I had sandwiches and tea so we picnicked. The path isn’t that clearly labelled but goes up to the right and after a while splits into an easier flatter walk or a steeper quicker walk to the top of the falls. Some climbing is required in places so sturdy shoes a must. The view from the bridge at the bottom of the falls is lovely. I wouldn’t like to visit in peak time as it could get crowded easier. I could have done without all the passive aggressive signs about paying for parking and asking dog owners to show respect by not leaving Pooh bags. It just annoys responsible owners and doesn’t get irresponsible owners and the only thing we saw was a soiled nappy (nothing aimed at parents). Would have spent money at the cafe if I’d been let in.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 25, 2023

- samy2 contributionsGreat to visit any time of yearVisited in December. Despite the cold, slightly rainy weather, we really enjoyed our time. We spent a bit of time exploring the bottom of the fountain as we wouldn’t have been able to take the trek up with a baby. Our baby really enjoyed the water in his wet suit! The people there were friendly and the people at the cafe were very welcoming too. The road ‘Waterfall street’ is quite treacherous as it is single tracked. There were cars driving both ways but it wasn’t too busy and people are patient, friendly and ready to give way! There were many people taking the trek up tooVisited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 21, 2023

Terrible road in and then no parking available no where to turn round took 11 minutes to do this…. How do I know exactly… the £100 fine for the privilege of being stuck. Sure the place is pretty if you get to stop and get out unfortunately we didn’t.
This car park needs signs to say full to prevent others having the same issues!! .

Beautiful waterfall, with parking close by. Can get very busy at peak times. Surrounding countryside walks are not clearly signposted. Cafe was closed.

Impressive waterfall - if you can get near it! The drive to the area was interesting in that the road is very narrow and you just have to hope another car doesn't come in the opposite direction - which plenty do. Parking closeby was impossible - so we had a short walk to the fall. There is a cafe by the full car park which was busy and the area was very crowded. It's possible to walk to the bottom of the waterfall by a flat(ish) path near the back of the cafe - or take a slippery, rocky short trek to a very limited standing area (there's a small bridge) to see the fall. It's worth the walk but got very crowded when we were there so only stayed for a few minutes.

Thus waterfall is amazing! Well worth the trip but be prepared to spend £5 to park and then pay again if you want to use their toilets!

Whilst on our return from Snowdonia we decided to check out the waterfall. Having driven a number of miles out of our way down a single track road we were confronted with the car park charge of £5. We decided to pay and see the wonder of the Waterfall, with the view of then having a snack and toilet break. In good faith paid the £5 for 21 mins, then told we would have to pay to use the toilets, and later had a very expensive tea and coffee as they could only accept debit card if the value was over £5. I have just returned home from work to discover I have been fined £100 for failing to purchase a parking ticket. However, I have since found the original parking ticket to discover that there was a network failure on the parking machine - I have appealed the fine, but not optimistic, Parking eye have a notorious reputation. My advice is keep driving if you are tempted by the road signs, its just not worth it. I have seen far better waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons and Ireland for free. The owner is complaining about the number of vehicles that are turning up and the damage it is causing. Simple take the signs down!

Do you pay cash or card for parking please?

How long does the walk take from the cafe to the waterfall? Thanks
Written January 10, 2022
It's a shortish ramble over the road and up the hillside, over rocky/muddy terrain, to get to the bottom of the falls... If you're steady on your feet it's 5 - 7 mins. Recommend walking sticks for extra stability in wet conditions. There are a couple of routes to the top of the falls, one is a steep scramble up and over a rocky hill or there is a longer winding pathway up the hill. 20-30 mins. Steep and slippery near the falls and big drops, so take care. We'll worth the climb for the valley view and access to additional falls.

We are planning to visit just wondering if this place good for babies with buggy
Written August 11, 2020
There is an option to visit the base of the Waterfall without the climb. I don't think it is suitable for a buggy. You could buy I think it would be difficult.

How do-able would it be to get to the waterfall with young children? I’ve read in most reviews the walks are difficult but not sure if ‘the walks’ are for scenery which my 3 & 4 year old wouldn’t be much interested in, or to get to the actual waterfall. Basically I’d like to take the kids for a little paddle :D

HI, we also just visited for the day and we stayed at the West Arms at Llanarmon which is first class. The chalet did look basic but that would suit many people. Good luck. Nigel.

I don’t like the sound of the car journey up single track. Is it far to walk if parking at bottom of track?
Written August 5, 2019
Yes, it's too far to walk and you're also vulnerable to traffic hurtling up the single track road
Written August 6, 2019
Sorry I don’t know the answer to your question. We only went for the walk to the waterfall. You could research information online.

I shouldn't think so, as the owners NOT MEMBERS OF WELSH OR ENGLISH TOURIST BOARD. They make their own rules, at a cost may I add,to the visitors to this natural attraction. They are out to take every penny off you that they can. If there wasn't a drought on at present, they would probably charge you gave a bbq of your own, like everything else they charge extortionately for. Check parking rates before you travel the long single track road which takes you there. They demanded £5 from me with less than a hour to go before they closed the gates. Read ALL the reviews. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ok the waterfall us stunning, but with the drought is not in flow at present so not worth going anyway.
