We visited on the hottest day of the year so far, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The miner's cottages were awesome as was the old 'steamie' equipment. The 'Vulcan boat was obviously modelled on Noah's Ark and was a great insight into how canal barges operated....More

Visited with my parents, Dad is a train and history buff and was blown away by the exhibits. The walk down by the canal is lovely. The cafe staff are nice and friendly with the fare basic but tasty.

Central is only a few hundred yards from the Gates of Summerlee. Depending where you live sunnyside is the busiest station with several trains an hour from Glagow and Edinburgh. Sumerlee is directly across from Sunnyside... More

The platform is not suitable for visitors to stand on (its behind a fence for that reason) but if you go to the mine area you can see our locos and also wave at the Scotrail trains which pass every 10 minutes or so. As the... More
