Came across this quite by chance as we wanted to visit the Route 66 and locomotive museum. I hope I don't offend the people of Barstow when I say that I never expected to see such a magnificent building in such a "one horse" town,...More

Beautiful Harvey House and Train Depot. You enter and go into a very large empty room. Several pictures on the wall and that's it except for an extremely small cabinet with a few Railway dishes. The other room was just as bare. What a disappointment....More

It would have been nice to be able to see the building. It seems that after 4:00 visitors can only see the 'ballroom' and hallway. From our reading it seems that what is now called the ballroom used to be a formal dining room. I...More

The Harvey House is a large old train station. The structure was interesting as were the train cars outside.

Free! Interesting history of the railroad. It has a nail room which is cool. Lots of trains to look at in the parking lot.

Local government offices are upstairs and a receptionist is downstairs weekdays. She let us wander there. The rooms downstairs are rented for special events, like weddings, etc.
