So much to see
Feb 2020
Solabrena is a Small town, for people who drives through, the Castillo de Salobrena is not Big or much to see, but the Way up there, is like going through old town, small Streets. By the Beach, many restaurants with Nice fod not so expensive. Will definitly go back to this place.

Enjoyed!
Sep 2019
Salobrena is a lovely spanish town which is dominated by the castle at the top. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Great views from the top.

Inferior to Almería’s Alcazar
Feb 2020 • Couples
If you are after great views then you will like it, but as castles go, it is infinitely inferior to the Alcazar up the motorway in Almeria. I would suggest you keep going north to Almeria and treat yourself to a visit to a really fantastic castle, which has far more interesting features and great views. The signage to the castle is appalling! Don’t even try to drive up as there is no parking. You have to walk it but that is a challenge - not from the walk, but just to find the entrance! There was one sign as you enter the old town for pedestrians and we and at least 4 others couples/ groups encountered one another up and down various streets near to the top, simply trying to find the way up to the entrance! Finally at the bottom of some steep steps there is ONE sign. I think the Tourist Office need to improve this as I am sure many tourists simply give up! We very nearly did. Actually this castle is more impressive from the A7 motorway than it is up close.

Won't be back again in a hurry
Feb 2020
Salobrena is a very Spanish town, small winding streets lead up to the castle. We eventually found a parking space on the street on the outskirts of Salobrena and walked up to the castle, being careful not to tread in the abundant amounts of dog poo that litter the street. Very interesting narrow streets lead up to the castle, and there are signs embedded in the roadway as a guide. Very quiet town on a Saturday afternoon in late February. The castle is OK for a quick visit but nothing special. From the castle you do get a good view over the whole of Salobrena town and surrounding area, but it's not a lovely outlook.

Beautiful hilltop castle
Dec 2019
Beautiful small castle perched on top of a hilltop near the sea surrounded on all sides by densely packed white painted houses with narrow streets and lanes.

Beautiful views
Nov 2019 • Couples
The castle is at the top of the historical centre of Salobreña and there are beautiful views all around. Visits are free on Monday afternoon. The old centre of Salobreña is very pretty and quiet, very few tourists, an interesting pueblo blanco surrounded by the more modern town. A lot of up and down but a very pleasant place to wander around.

Lovely Castle!
Oct 2019 • Couples
Enjoyed visiting the castle (although not much to see) and the beautiful views it offers! It is however a steep climb to it and directions are not very clear (we had to keep asking the locals which way to go). The castle is very well maintained and worth the hike). Go for a drink at La Bahia at the sea front after your hike.

Lovely view
Sep 2019
We walked up o the castle from the town. It’s pretty steep so wear the right shoes, The signposting wasn’t great but it didn’t seem to matter as all routes broadly led to the castles. 2 euros to go in. Not much to see but a nice view of the area from the top. We found a nice bar on the way back down and have a beer with a free tapas. Nice way to spend an afternoon

Excellent views of Salobreña
Sep 2019 • Friends
We parked in the old town and walked up to the prominent Castillo. A steady climb through streets of the old town. Maybe a challenge for some who should drive closer to the top. The Castillo is in great condition and impressive. There are fantastic views of the town an beachfront when you arrive. Worth a visit. We couldn’t find any information on gaining access to the inside.
